US, EU irked by stalled Japan Post privatisation
Posted May 21, 2010TOKYO — Japanese, US and EU trade officials were due to meet in Geneva on Friday to discuss “level playing field concerns” about the sprawling Japan Post group, US officials said.
The centre-left government that took power in Japan last September has slammed the brakes on a plan by previous conservative leaders to privatise the group, which boasts massive banking and insurance arms.
