U.S. goes to China to give exports a lift
Posted May 24, 2010More than 200 U.S. officials are flying to Beijing for meetings Monday and Tuesday to try to give American exports to China a lift, but observers are forecasting stormy weather ahead.
On the surface, there’s reason for a sunny outlook. President Barack Obama wants to double U.S. exports over five years and China is a locomotive that can pull the global economy out of its deep recession.
