U.S. to keep eye on China trade

Trade Rep. Ron Kirk and Commerce Sec’y Gary Locke said the U.S. would watch Beijing’s efforts to let its currency rise and take steps to open China’s market if needed. Locke said Commerce may penalize China in a dispute over paper and aluminum products. The U.S. and others accuse China of keeping the yuan weak to give its exporters an unfair trade advantage.
